Filled with bananas, cereal, honey, Greek yogurt and milk, these Banana & Honey Cereal Breakfast Popsicles are perfect for a morning treat, mid-day snack or healthy dessert!

Hiiiiiya, friends! How goes it?

I know a lot of chitlens are already back to school, but our county here in N to the C goes back on Monday. So I thought today would be a good day to share a fun, easy breakfast treat for all the little kiddos out there.

But before we get to that, in light of school being back in session, I thought I’d school you. On me. Wait that sounded strange, right? What I mean is, I thought I’d teach you guys a few things about moi.

I mean it IS only fair. The youngsters can’t be the only ones gettin’ their learn on.

And don’t worry, I’m not going to put you to sleep with my entire life’s story or anything. I am just going to share a few fun facts. Buuuut maybe these facts aren’t even “fun”? I guess that kind of depends on your definition of fun.

Regardless, I AM sharing. And you WILL be down with it. 😇

Okay, here goes.

You pronounce my name Shy-Anne. I always assumed most people knew how to say my name, because the whole Indians and capital of Wyoming thing. But, the first time I talked to this lady on the phone she butchered it. I guess that “A” confuses people? Consider this for the record: Cheyanne = Shy-Anne.

You can call me Chey. Errr, Shy. It is one of my many nicknames.

Have you heard the song “If I said you had a beautiful body” by the Bellamy Brothers? That was my parent’s song and I was named after it. Well, wait. I wasn’t named after the ACTUAL song. One of those brothers had a baby and named her Cheyanne. My dad fell in love with the name and gave my mother no say in the matter. Sorry mom! But, I’m so glad Dad put his foot down. I think I’ll keep my name for life.

I am not part Indian. Believe it or not, some people assume I am before they meet me. Sorry to disappoint, but ummm no.

I’m addicted to gum.

…And sugar free Jolly Ranchers. Bad things happen if Boy lets my supply get low.

I wholeheartedly believe popcorn is an acceptable dinner.

If I’m at home I always have a Breathe Right nose strip on. Unless we have company, obviously. That could get weird. And now you have a super sexy idea of how I look on a regular basis, huh? High five.

I have a degree in both psychology and culinary arts.

I have a minor in sociology.

Boy has a real name. It is not Boy. Okay, so this one isn’t about me. But, I figured I should just throw this one in as a bonus round.

Aaaaaand Done.

Don’t you just feel SOO much closer to me?! Now we can be virtual real life besties! I realize that makes no sense. Just go with it.

Now that we are as thick as thieves, let’s get down to the good stuff – POPSICLES! You didn’t think I had already posted my last popsicle of the summer did you?! HOLD UP! Nope.

In case you live in under a rock, cereal popsicles are a thing. And obviously I HAD to get all over that fad before autumn came and it was too late.

So today I’m sharing some breakfast popsicles I wish my mother had made for me when it was time to go back to school.

Banana & Honey Cereal Breakfast Popsicles

You guys, these popsicles are THE best way to get your kids out of bed. And even better yet, they are a cinch to make. Winning all around if you ask me.

These popsicles are super creamy, slightly sweet and a touch tangy with hints of cinnamon and honey, clusters of cereal and tender chunks of banana.

These cereal breakfast pops are like your boring bowl of cereal gone craaaaaazy. I mean since there ARE bananas in here, I could pull a Gwen and say these pops are bananas. B-a-n-a-n-a-s. (<– Sorry, HAD to)

Plus, these banana popsicles are stupid easy to make.

Mix together some yogurt, milk, honey and cinnamon. Add in the cereal and stir to combine. Drop some slices of bananas into a popsicle mold. Add in the cereal milk mixture. Freeze overnight. Hand one to your child and send them off to school.

Then pat yourself on the back. You are now officially the coolest mom on the block.

Notes, Tips & Tricks for Banana & Honey Cereal Breakfast Popsicles:

  1. I used plain Greek yogurt in these popsicles, but I have made them before with honey flavored Greek yogurt and it was SO so good! You can use any flavor of yogurt you want, however, I strongly suggest you use full fat yogurt regardless of the flavor you choose. If you use low fat yogurt your popsicles won’t be as creamy and thick.
  2. The same thing applies for the milk, but IF you want to cut some fat, here is where I would do it. 2% milk with full fat yogurt will yield a creamier Banana & Honey Cereal Breakfast Popsicles than whole milk with low fat yogurt.
  3. I used Honey Bunches of Oats Cereal, but I sifted through the cereal and mostly used the bunches (or clusters). You can use whatever cereal you want, just make sure it is a crunchy cereal. You can also nix the cereal and just use granola. I made these the other week with all granola and they were AMAZING.
  4. The popsicles will stick slightly to the mold due to the honey. You will need to run the mold under lukewarm water for 10 seconds or so to get them to easily release.

Banana & Honey Cereal Breakfast Popsicles

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Plain Greek Yogurt (full fat)*
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 2 TBS Honey *
  • ½ tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 Cup Honey Bunches of Oats Cereal *
  • 2 small Bananas – thinly sliced

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, or blender, mix together the yogurt, milk, honey and cinnamon. Add in the cereal and stir until just combined.
  • Pour a little bit of the cereal milk mixture into each mold. Drop in a few slices of bananas and then repeat with cereal milk and bananas until molds are full. Gently tap the molds on the counter to help mixture settle.
  • Place molds in the freezer and freeze for 1 hour. Remove and insert wooden sticks. Place back in the freezer and freeze overnight.
  • Remove popsicles from mold and enjoy. If you have a hard time removing the popsicles, run the mold under warm water for 10 seconds or so.

Notes

*You can substitute flavored Greek yogurt for plain, just make sure you are using full fat yogurt
*You can use more or less honey, just adjust according to taste.
*You can substitute granola for the cereal or any other cereal of choice, just make sure it is a crunchy cereal.
